Ubhubhubhu / Phalazani Muthi
Ubhubhubhu / Phalazani muthi comes in a 30g plastic packet. It is a traditional Zulu and Xhosa medicine primarily used to induce vivid, lucid dreams and connect with ancestors. Practitioners often refer to it as “Dream Wood” because it opens spiritual “gates” and sharpens intuition.
Ubhubhubhu / Phalazani is used in Lebudlu for all.
Lebudlu is foam medicine.
Common Uses
Traditional healers and individuals use this muthi for several spiritual and physical purposes:
- Dream Activation: It helps users receive prophetic dreams or guidance from the spirit world.
- Spiritual Cleansing: The medicine removes ritual impurities or “bad luck” from the body.
- Mental Clarity: It sharpens perception and may help soothe the mind.
- Physical Cleansing: Sometimes people use it as an emetic to clear the stomach or detox the system.
How to Use Ubhubhubhu
You can prepare and use this medicine in three main ways. Always use it with clear intentions and respect.
1. The Foam Method (Ubulawu)
- Step 1: Use 1 gram of the powder.
- Step 2: Mix the powder into a large container with at least 3 litres of cold water.
- Step 3: Churn the mixture vigorously with a whisk or foamer until a thick white foam appears.
- Step 4: Consume only the foam on an empty stomach.
- Step 5: Go to sleep or take a nap shortly after to experience the dream effects.
- Continue for 6 days. On day 7 wash with it. Lebudlu process.
2. The Decoction (Boiling)
- Step 1: Add about half a teaspoon (1 to 2 grams) of the muthi to water.
- Step 2: Simmer the mixture gently for 20 to 30 minutes until the water changes colour.
- Step 3: Drink the tea in the morning or before bed for three to seven consecutive days.
3. The Ritual Wash (Ukuhlamba)
- Step 1: Prepare the foam using the Ubulawu method described above.
- Step 2: Apply the white foam to the body during a bath or wash.
- Step 3: Use this wash late in the evening to focus on removing negative energy and spiritual cleansing.
